Two special couples

Image
This time of year we take the time to say Happy Anniversary to both sets of our parents. Today we celebrate the anniversary of Bruce and Joanne and on May 7, Jim and Ellen ... fun side note, they got married the same year! In a couple years they reach the big 4-0 milestone. Isn't this just awesome? In our current culture, to have them serve as role models to us and our families on how to love and trust in a marriage is one of the great gifts they have given us. Their lives have certainly had their tough spots, like most everyone, but they have made it through together. Thank you for all you have shown us and congratulations on your anniversaries. We love you! A few pics from our weekend together before Stefan's latest trip and before the bros come to visit :) Well first, Gavin's school picture. Not a good picture of the little guy, and since he isn't in official school yet we will not be purchasing it. It kind of makes me sad to see his little sad face...

Catch up

Image
It's been a bit since I caught everyone up, sorry about that long distance friends and family! My excuses could go on and on, but it mostly revolves around being a busy working momma who is also working on her new biz and trying to be a good wife :) (among other things, you know normal life stuff). Mom and Dad H left a few days after Stefan got back from his latest two week work trip. We had a blast with their visit and we are super thankful for their help while he was gone. I haven't had a chance to get through all of Mom's pictures yet, but I picked out some of the good ones I knew she had to share. Stefan, Gav and I have been getting settled for the last few weeks before his next work trip. When he gets home though we are welcoming Matt and Andrew for a visit, yay! Then it will be more visitors and retreat time, where has the time gone? Before Mom and Dad left we had a great visit with my long-time friend, Craig and his family Stacy and Kayden while they were at Pe...

Husband post!

This is a quick post all about a certain guy in my life that I'm pretty proud of ... Stefan! Check out the video he narrates talking about Byron Jones, the footballer who broke a world record in the broad jump at the NFL combine this year. Of course, Byron has natural abilities and did all the work! Stefan was able to help him be physically and mentally prepared for this moment in his career and make sure he performed optimally. The best part is Byron is a stand-up kid (kid, ha!). Sports Illustrated.com video There is also a short blurb in the upcoming SI print edition (week of April 13)! Pretty cool, Stefan will have his name in there, albeit just one quote, but it is something after working with athletes for so long. Congrats Stefan on all you have achieved in your career so far. We over here in Utterly Underwood land are proud to claim you as our own!

Happy Easter!

Image
I hope everyone had an enjoyable Easter weekend! I loved seeing pictures on Facebook of families dressed in spring dress clothes and kids hunting for Easter eggs. We had beautiful weather and a nice time together. Stefan made to Chicago and we can't wait to see him on Saturday!  Gavin, my parents and I enjoyed Gavin's gymnastics class Saturday morning followed by an Easter egg hunt put on by the church where he goes to daycare twice a week. There were tons of kids and although intimidated at first he got the hang of it. Gavin colored Easter eggs for the first time after his nap and it was a pretty big hit thanks to the stickers he could put on since he couldn't do much of the rest.  Sunday he did great at church then got to test his hand at another egg hunt in the church lawn. then he was such a good little guy for brunch. We went to our favorite restaurant here, and he sat in his chair and ate like a big kid. We also ventured down the boardwalk for a windy stroll ...

March visit wrap up

Image
Our last March visitors made it here last week and are having fun with Gav. They've been exploring the local parks, beaches and attractions. Our time without Stefan is one week down, one more to go. I'm sure more pics to come as we go Easter egg hunting on Saturday and to Easter brunch after Mass on Sunday. On this Good Friday may you reflect on what is "dying" in your life and release it so we may all rise up on Easter! God bless, family and friends!
