Little Underwood, Big Harte

Last weekend we had a blast hosting Stefan's cousin, Patti, and her family (Barry, Colin and Sean). They are on an epic road trip from Ottawa, Canada all the way down to visit us, Disney World and other family in Vero Beach on the Atlantic side of FL. They made several stops on the way down to us and have a few more fun places to visit on the way back up. I'm sure they are having a great time at Disney World today! They arrived Friday just after dinner in time to play with Gavin for a little bit before his bedtime. Saturday was Colin's 12th birthday (yes he shares a bday with one special lady, my mom!). After breakfast we went to Pensacola Beach and the boys played in the water up to their knees. There were massive waves! It wasn't quite nice enough to swim and as you can see, Sean, has a cast (broke it ice skating!). For lunch we ventured to Red Fish, Blue Fish (one of our local favs since kids can run around and play) right on the water. Great setting for lunch a...

Here are a few of the G,G&G (Grandpa, Grandma and Gavin) adventures last week from the view of Grandpa Bruce's phone.  Mommy and Grandma hit the bi-yearly consignment sale to stock up on summer clothes for Gavin. (Check out my new crazy yoga tights from Stefan for our anniversary!). Scoping out the helicopters and airplanes at the NAS museum Snack on the front porch. Even though this is Gavin's third hair cut, this was a big step. He let Ms. Brittany use the clippers on his sides. The big clippers. All the way around. She said he was her youngest client ever who let her do this, and she has been cutting hair for awhile now.  He was this stoic the whole time (see picture one below), and only after he was done did he start talking again and bust out some smiles for her. We were lucky to find Brittany at a nearby Super Cuts the first time we went to get him a cut, and she has become our go to. We call to find out when she will there to plan our next trip. Grandma had the pleasure of joining me and we were all doting on how great he did.  Thought you might enjoy the before and after pics for your day today. Or really, when he does anything, reads his books at night before bed, ...

When Gavin says Grandma and Grandpa it comes out Baba and Baba. Whatever he says he is excited to have some of his people here! He's quite enamored by them, especially when Grandma sings to him - he just stares at her. They have had some fun watching him while we work and this weekend we had some nice weather so we could explore some of Pensacola with them. We've been having a great time despite a few colds (Stefa, Gavin and Grandma) early in the week and a blast of cold weather for a few days. We are so glad to have them visit!  They have arrived! More birthday presents, some great books, and ...  Grandma sewed this "fort" that drapes over a card table, so clever and he loves it!
