10 Months

"I'm 10 months old today!"

Gavin is doing awesome and has such a great demeanor and personality. He is a "ham" and a "cheese". When he gives you that precious too big for his face smile I just love it! He is all over the place, motoring on all fours and pulling him self up on all kinds of furniture (or our legs)! He perfected climbing up stairs and G&G Harte's and is trying to climb furniture now at home. He pulls all the books off his shelf about 17 times a day and empties things out about that many times, too (his toy box, laundry baskets).

He had his last wellness check up at about 9 1/2 months when we got back from MI. The doctor said he was doing great! He was only 18.6 lb, so still not even 20 lb. He also grew 1 1/2 inches since last time. The doctor said it is normal for breast fed babies to hit a growth plateau between 6-9 months, so she wasn't concerned about the slow down. He seems healthy and happy (most of the time)!

Gavin loves to eat finger foods. If he can mash it around in his mouth then we break it up small so he can have it. He'll still eat purees if we give him bites in between him feeding himself something from his tray. He likes almost everything, but he tends to get bored if you keep giving it to him too many days/meals in a row. Some of his favorites: chicken, beans, blueberries, bread and of course Puffs.

Maybe we should skip talking about sleep still ... Stefan says he thinks he is above average, and maybe so, but we haven't had a full sleep through the night since about 7 months. If he gets up and quickly goes back to bed or has an early morning feeding and sleeps until time to get up (between 6:45-7:30) then it is not so bad. It is when he is up for over two hours and doesn't want to stay in his crib but doesn't want us to hold him either that are a bit rough. We take turns and usually don't have back to back nights of this. Sometimes we think he is so tired but his little body wants to keep moving! At least he is in his crib now and has lots of room to roll around.

I had to cut a little bit of his hair! He had this little "rattail" in the back and I snipped it off so we have some hair now for his baby book.

He loves pretty much anything he shouldn't play with (cell phones, remotes, eyeglasses, water glasses, cords, lamps, and the list goes on). He is waving, clapping, a bouncing form of dancing, saying mom, dad, baba but not associating them with anything, open mouth kissing (us and babies in his books), biting (when he gets tired, ugh!) and of course smiling and laughing.

The best part of the day is when I come out of my office for lunch or after work and when Stefan comes home and we say, "Gavin, where are you?" and he gets excited, squeals then frantically crawls over to us!

I hope everyone is doing well. We have some holiday celebrations this weekend and next week with friends here then we head to Canada for Christmas next weekend already! Enjoy a few recent pics.

A hat that fits for my trip to the great white north! Yes, it's a Monster!

Merry Christmas!

Earning my keep around here.

What, this isn't steady for me to stand here, but aren't I cute?
