20 Months
20 months - 2 - 0 months, twenty months ... yep, Gavin crept into that club on Tuesday and is approaching that two year mark quite rapidly. In some ways I can't believe it, and in other ways it feels like he's always been here! (Two of my fav pics from MI below).
Stefan and I can't stop talking about how interactive and fun Gavin is at this age. He picks up new words every day and understands what is going on around him along with following instructions. He love exploring. If he is in a new place, and especially outside, he could go for hours. He gets this amazing look on his face and I can just see him taking in the world ... again, he is my constant teacher reminding me to LIVE IN THE PRESENT, ENJOY THE MOMENT and JUST BE. I seriously can't get enough of this kid (well, okay, I'll admit I probably could use another hour of sleep in the morning because he is still getting around 5:30 a.m. a lot of days even though he gave us a week of sleeping in later, but that must have just been a tease!).
Yesterday I spent the afternoon and evening in Mobile, AL for the Light The Night Walk (a fundraiser for LLS), and got a chance to see our mission in action plus meet some of the "local" staff. I was also pre-celebrating Matt being 20 years cancer free and thinking of all those survivors I know, as well as those I knew who weren't able to beat this disease. Thanks for all who have and continue to supported LLS - we know the cure for cancer is coming someday and we believe, "someday is today"!
While I was gone the boys spent the afternoon playing in the park. Stefan was even able to pick Gavin up from daycare an hour early. They played for almost two hours and then had dinner, bath and bedtime. We are looking forward to a weekend all together though!
