Grover cousin visit!

Last weekend we had a blast hosting Stefan's cousin, Patti, and her family (Barry, Colin and Sean). They are on an epic road trip from Ottawa, Canada all the way down to visit us, Disney World and other family in Vero Beach on the Atlantic side of FL. They made several stops on the way down to us and have a few more fun places to visit on the way back up. I'm sure they are having a great time at Disney World today!

They arrived Friday just after dinner in time to play with Gavin for a little bit before his bedtime. Saturday was Colin's 12th birthday (yes he shares a bday with one special lady, my mom!). After breakfast we went to Pensacola Beach and the boys played in the water up to their knees. There were massive waves! It wasn't quite nice enough to swim and as you can see, Sean, has a cast (broke it ice skating!).

For lunch we ventured to Red Fish, Blue Fish (one of our local favs since kids can run around and play) right on the water. Great setting for lunch and margaritas for the adults! Gavin and I went back for a long nap while Stefan took our guests to Fort Pickens and a brief visit to his work. We had pizza, ice cream cake, presents and games in the evening.

Sunday after breakfast they hit the road. It was a short trip but so fun. Gavin LOVED his cousins and still asks for Colin and Sean in a whining voice like he is just heart broken they have left already. Poor kid!

Two groups of visitors down, one more to go for this month. Happy Birthday, Mom! Can't wait to celebrate with you in person in a few weeks.

After our guests left - Daddy snuck in a nap and Gavin climbed up to snuggle.

FL Friends Showering us with Loads of Love

I have to say I feel very grateful and blessed to have some great friends in FL. It makes it a bit easier being away from family knowing we have loving friends here who are genuinely excited about Baby Underwood's arrival and spending time with him/her. Three special girls, Calli, Libby and Natalie, planned an Aussie-themed shower to go with the nursery theme. It was adorable and all so appreciated. Thanks to them and all the ladies who were able to make it out for a Sunday afternoon dedicated to celebrating the pending arrival of Baby U. Much love! Hand-knit koala hat! Brooke - you are so good! I passed my gestational diabetes test, uterus measured well, heart beat of the baby was strong, my weight was still right on and blood pressure was ... well, it is okay compared to where it has been. First Trimester Fun

LENGTH WARNING: Last post and this post are catching you up and will serve as a memory for us in the future, so we apologize they are a little long. Once we got home and settled from our European adventures we hunkered down while I fought daily fatigue, a decent amount of nausea, a few food aversions and a heightened sense of smell that often left me holding my noise and running away from its source. Our first doctor's appointment was scheduled for 8 1/2 weeks and it seemed like forever away. One huge blessing is working from home where I don't have to get ready or act "normal". Stefan and Andrew helped out with some cleaning, cooking and errands while I really took it down a notch. I normally have a hard time resting and relaxing and not accomplishing much in a day, so my July was a bit different. The first appointment was great for the most part.
