Z is 9 months!
9 month old baby!
Zoe was 9 months old on Jan. 3 - officially out of my belly as long as she was in :) Oh man do we love her! She is a crawling machine, pulls up on everything and has just recently started letting go, ah! Predictions are she will walk by next month, but we will see. I think a bit longer. One of her favorite games is to chase after Gavin crawling or to crawl under mommy as she crawls. Oh the giggles when she does.
She has an infectious smile and we love her little giggles and laughs. Sometimes it sounds just like Gavin! She still has a great personality and we hope she continues to be pleasant and chill.
She has five teeth band two more are just barely through with one more not far behind. She eats lots of purees and we started some meats the last month. She can handle some finger foods (peas, black beans, scrapes bits of carrot sticks, and any baby snacks that melt in the mouth). She isn't quite used to the solid foods so everything is still very small right now. She eats three puree meals a day around 4 oz each - grow baby girl grow! She also still nurses well.
She sleeps fairly well its just that she is used to two feedings during the night. With all the teething and traveling I ended up feeding her for ease to get her back to sleep. Now we will have to start weaning her from those soon, maybe once those teeth all come through and she is a bit more comfortable. With her two small naps during the day she goes to bed right now around 6 or 6:30 and doesn't get up for good until 6 or 6:30 the next morning. Now if we can just get rid of those two night time feeding we'll be in business.
She wears mostly 9 month clothing and at her well child appointment she weighed 16.3 lb (17% her most yet on her growth curve although she is still petite) and measured 27" (23%). Her ear infection is gone and she is healthy!
She did pretty well with all the traveling over the holidays and the craziness. It was so fun to be able to introduce her to the rest of that side of the family. Pics of the trip to be posted soon (i hope!). Next week Wednesday will be the first day she is home with the nanny. For those who don't know, they are closing the infant room at her daycare so she will be here with one of her teachers until she can go back when she is 1 (and she has to be walking by then to go back). It will be a bit distracting but at least I get to see her some during the day and hopefully no more pumping! YAY! :)
I hope you all had a great start to the new year. Love to you all!
