Operation surprise Grandma Jo = Success

Image
Despite some rough travel we all made it to Calgary (in two groups, some of us late and some of us super late and minus one bag) in time to surprise Grandma Jo on Sunday morning for her 70th birthday! She makes 70 look fantastic! Thanks to Michael and Katie for picking us up (screaming Gavin and I at 10:30p.m. MT/12:30 a.m. ET) and Stefan at 2 a.m., for giving up your bedroom for all of us and for a yummy brunch! G&G walked into the apartment and Gavin ran out - so glad that part went according to plan!

Made it to MI

Gavin and I made it to MI for Thanksgiving! Stefan comes soon. We had overall smooth travels and have already had fun in a winter wonderland. Early snow for MI! Have a great holiday American loved ones-we love ALL of you!

Gymnastics Fall Fling

Image
Gavin is still enjoying gymnastics (we think, sometimes his face doesn't always seem to match fun, but that is sort of just how he is). He had his Fall Fling this past weekend where they get to demonstrate their skills. Pretty cute! The overall goal here to make him aware of his body and contribute to both his mental and physical development - plus we hope have fun!  Stretch! Monkey man Tada! He loves firetrucks, loves to read about them and talk about them, pretend make one and drive it at home, but when he has had three different opportunities to get in one, he WILL NOT! Chicken! And, this is what happens when your child goes to daycare in the South (for this reading this is for Alabama, an SEC school). His teachers taught him, and to us it isn't that big of a deal but for Auburn fans or other SEC fans, they don't seem all that impressed when their kids come home saying Roll Tide, haha! And, a sneak peak and the little one at  my 18 we...

Back in FL action

Image
We've been back in the groove and are in the midst of surviving Stefan's second work trip since we've been back. Unfortunately, I have to go back to our home office next week for work, so we will overlap about 1 1/2 days. Then we have a week together before we jaunt back up to MI for Thanksgiving and Stefan meets us a week later. Boy is our schedule nuts or what? I haven't been up for posting tons given several things 1) work is super intense right now with the pending implementation of a new client management system and relaunch of one of our priority campaigns - all set with a deadline of March 1. Thankfully this baby isn't due until early April, so let's hope both of those deadlines stick! 2) I'm heading toward 18 weeks pregnant, taking care of little G and handling the house - you know normal life stuff (of course with help of Stef!). So needless to say once Gavin is in bed (which by the way isn't always so smooth lately), I plop on the couch and j...

Little Underwood, Big Harte - episode 2

Image
In case you haven't heard yet, we are super excited to announce we will be expanding our family! Stefan, Gavin and I will be welcoming a little one early April!  We found out about our news while in Canada actually. Then we had our grand European Adventure (couldn't drink the wine in Italy so only right I couldn't drink the beer in Germany! ;) ) followed by our stay in MI. It hasn't been all smooth sailing, which I know is quite common but man first trimesters aren't that fun! Around week 5/6, I started feeling  nauseous a lot of the day. I've been super sensitive to any strong smells, ugh! Those first two weeks seemed to be the worst, then it lighted up just slightly. I still get a little "blah" usually in the evenings, but am doing better in the day. I have been and still am super tired! Might be all that is going on with work, having Stefan traveling a lot and having a toddler, too, though, huh?  The only good thing about the Factor V blood di...

Gavin's Michigan escapades

Thanks again to G&G Harte for watching Gavin while we were in Europe and for our visit. As you can see from the pictures below, they had tons of fun doing lots of new things. Gavin did awesome while we were gone (and only acted up once I was home, go figure!). We are excited to head back for Thanksgiving this year before we get to host an Underwood Christmas in Florida - busy end of the year ahead! Photos from the MI trip>>

European Adventure

Greetings everyone! We are all still alive and doing well. It has been way to long since I've updated and my only excuse is we have been running wild! Since our last post, Gavin and packed up and flew to MI while Stefan flew straight to Munich. The next day I left MI for Munich to meet Stefan where we stayed for a night. We liked Munich's old town section and market, but it is a big city so we were ready for some countryside and more culture! We ventured out to Salzburg (salt castle translated!), Austria in our rental car and Stefan was enjoying the Autoban's modern technology (and courteous drivers!). We were impressed by the German and Austrian countryside as even their small towns seem well kept up. Salzburg, we loved! Its castle towers over the city and its slightly smaller population really showed us some great culture. We then made our way to Prague (Praha!) and explored the whole city for four days. The best part of this city is it isn't just one old town...
