Nine Years and Counting

Image
Nine years folks - they are in the books! Stefan and I celebrated our nine year wedding anniversary this past weekend. Thanks to one of our great sitters, we enjoyed a tasty seafood dinner out just us at one of our favs, the Grand Marlin (we expect to miss local fresh fish when we move to the desert!!). We also checked out the little theater in Pensacola for the Short Attention Span Theater show. It was an easy, nice evening out for the two of us. Sunday we were bummed to miss some of our Indy buddies while they were in Destin (poor kiddo got sick!), but we made the most of the day and did a family trip to the aquarium instead. Not sure why it took us that long to go there. It is right on the water and we got to see a dolphin and a sea lion show. Gavin took awhile to warm up, but then seemed to enjoy it. We packed a picnic lunch so after enjoying that in a perfectly placed gazebo outside the facility, we drove back thinking our little no nap at home 3-year old would fall asleep in th...

Gavin is THREE!

Image
The birthday boy had a follow up appointment for his ear infection on Friday, but was doing slightly better so didn't need more shots! Which meant he was in a pretty good mood all morning. He was so excited when he woke up calling us by saying "mommy and daddy, come and get me, it's my birthday". (He still waits for us to come get him even though he is in a big boy bed). Once we came into his room he said "I'm three, now I'm as big as you guys!" Then after seeing his decorations he thanked me-sweet boy! Our almost big brother is so fun to watch as he continues to learn the world around him. His conversations and observations many times crack us up, and sometimes his "why" questions drive us crazy ;) ! His teachers say he is organized, a good cleaner and sits well at lunch setting a great example! He still takes things all in when out in new settings before he ventures out. His sweet demeanor continues to come through like when he told...

Third trimester update

Image
I like to post about how fab things are, but unfortunately this third trimester has been full of unexpected challenges. I thought I would still update so everyone knew what we were up to lately. Luckily the pregnancy has still been great, and that is one huge blessing! The challenges come from a two week cold/sinus infection for me followed by Gavin getting an ear infection. We thought it was better then found out he still had it. Now he is struggling with it even worse and is on breathing treatments. They can be so hard to kick I have learned! This is only his second one but it is a doozy. This current week has been really hard since he keeps getting his fever back in the evenings. I haven't worked very much between repeated doctor appointments and keeping him home from school, and Stefan is trying to help as much as he can during this busy time of year training the NFL combine athletes. Gavin's been going on a month with this thing, so let's hope tomorrow he can final...

Oh those crazy Underwoods

Image
Well we are up to it again ... things are about to get crazy here. We are excited to announce Stefan was offered a new position with company. This is an answer to our prayers really as it offers less travel that will be mostly during the week and trips that he can schedule. It will also allow for a more defined career path that allows for some additional leadership roles in the near future. The only thing is it is located at their headquarters which is in Phoenix. Therefore...we are moving to PHX! Ahhh!  In the long run this definitely feels right and we are even excited about the city, but the timing will make it somewhat overwhelming. We decided that although he starts the new job from here mid-March, we will have the baby here and move at the end of my maternity leave after Memorial Day. That will give us a couple weeks to get settled before I go back to work. It will be a wild few months but we are excited for this opportunity. This isn't public knowledge yet so not putting it...

New family pictures

We know we are so spoiled that one of our best friends in Canada, Tamara, is a professional photographer (and she specializes in kids!), and that she insists we do a photo shoot every time we come to visit. Then she makes us a holiday card, how great is she?! Not to mention talented. We just love our photos from early December this year. You saw a sneak peak of some of these, but I posted all of the edited images together on this post just to share and brag on our T a little. Even though I was only 25 weeks along, she thought we could show the baby bump a little. Thanks again T so very much!
