Did we have a weekend?

The Underwood household had a rough weekend, so can we have a do over? Stefan actually stayed home sick with a fever Thursday and Friday (first time he's ever missed work from being sick). He's still got this pesky cough, which I think his asthma, that comes into play only every few years, won't let go of. He was better by Saturday but still tired and wore out. I've been dealing with a sinus issue all week and am still trying to work through that. Poor Gavin got sick for the first time this weekend, catching the fever on Saturday morning. None of us got much sleep that evening. His fever is gone now and he's left with just some fussiness and some congestion.

Grandma U did make it here (unlucky to have to come to a sick household!) and has been helping us hold it together. Despite all that there have been some fun moments so far on her visit.

We are hoping for a much better week before Stefan leaves for his work trip on Friday.

FL Friends Showering us with Loads of Love

I have to say I feel very grateful and blessed to have some great friends in FL. It makes it a bit easier being away from family knowing we have loving friends here who are genuinely excited about Baby Underwood's arrival and spending time with him/her. Three special girls, Calli, Libby and Natalie, planned an Aussie-themed shower to go with the nursery theme. It was adorable and all so appreciated. Thanks to them and all the ladies who were able to make it out for a Sunday afternoon dedicated to celebrating the pending arrival of Baby U. Much love! Hand-knit koala hat! Brooke - you are so good! I passed my gestational diabetes test, uterus measured well, heart beat of the baby was strong, my weight was still right on and blood pressure was ... well, it is okay compared to where it has been. First Trimester Fun

LENGTH WARNING: Last post and this post are catching you up and will serve as a memory for us in the future, so we apologize they are a little long. Once we got home and settled from our European adventures we hunkered down while I fought daily fatigue, a decent amount of nausea, a few food aversions and a heightened sense of smell that often left me holding my noise and running away from its source. Our first doctor's appointment was scheduled for 8 1/2 weeks and it seemed like forever away. One huge blessing is working from home where I don't have to get ready or act "normal". Stefan and Andrew helped out with some cleaning, cooking and errands while I really took it down a notch. I normally have a hard time resting and relaxing and not accomplishing much in a day, so my July was a bit different. The first appointment was great for the most part.
