11 Months

(A few days late, I had this ready to go and forgot to publish it, oops!)
  • Gavin loves to give high fives and knuckles
  • Always gets a kick out of riding on someone's shoulders
  • His favorite thing to do is take books off his shelf or any shelf and throw them on the floor. Over and over again. Pretty much he likes to take anything out of where it belongs. Laundry out of the basket, clothes pins out of the bag, stuffed animals out of the box. He did just put clothes pins back in the bag this morning, so maybe progress toward picking up after himself? (i know, i've got a long time to go before that.)
  • He can cluck his tongue and kisses the babies and characters in his books. We can even get an open mouthed kiss from time to time. He can also motorboat his lips, but not as often yet.
  • I love this ... He has started to OM back to me at night when I'm getting him ready for bed (more of a hum/mmm from him, but oh so cute!)
  • Peekaboo is still his favorite game, along with "Where is Gavin" where we hide around the corner and call him till he crawls over to us.
  • He eats anything. We are hoping this sticks around but know it may not. He isn't really interested in us feeding him purees unless he has some finger foods to feed himself. Or, we give him the poaches of food and squeeze it in right from there.
  • He is a fast and furious crawler, can pull up on anything and walk along the furniture while holding on. He has been able to stand on his own for a few seconds as well, so we know the walking will be coming soon.
  • He hates lying down the get changed now. He just tries to roll over and sit up despite our best distractions.
  • Sleep! Now that we are home without immediate travel plans/changing timezones, visitors for a few more weeks, any plans for Daddy to travel and at the moment all are healthy, we have been working on more specific sleep training. So far we've seen some success, so fingers crossed.
  • Still eight teeth and he likes to bit my arm or leg when he is really tired or excited. Not cool!
  • He is still very animated, smiley and giggly - he is so much fun to be around!
  • My favorite part of the day is when I come out of my office for lunch or at the end of the day (say hi to Kait, Gavin's nanny, who is the background, and also an avid blog reader!)

Likes "resting" on his pillow, ya know, for like a second.

I found him like this when we got home one day recently. He pulled the cover to his car seat down in front of him and you can't really see but also dumped his snacks all over him (apparently the bag wasn't fully sealed). He looks quite pleased with himself, don't you think?
