Rose Bowl Champs

Yes this is a little late, but we were excited to see Michigan State Spartans take the Rose Bowl win this year, GO STATE!

Thank you everyone for all your presents for Gavin this year. He is really enjoying them and we are, too. We really appreciate your generosity and thoughtfulness.
One present, one of the new bamboo bowls and spoons that Godfather Andrew got him. We have been using them every day. Less plastic, yay! I had to include this pic of course because of his famous CHEESE smile. Yep, he's still doing it and it cracks us up every time!
Gavin has become quite the "helper" while Mom and Dad are working in the kitchen. Maybe we will get some more cabinet locks if we get sick of picking up the dishes/pots/pans/appliances, but for now we are letting him play. I sent this to Grandma U and she sent back the picture below - life father like son!

Florida has had record low temperatures getting to the low 20s F, but I know the Midwest and East Coast have been slammed with the craziest winter storm. Here is a picture from my Mom and Dad featuring our Newfoundland, Bear. Bear and snowboarders are probably the only people who love this weather so much.

I hope everyone is having a great start to the new year. We are enjoying the month at home just the three of us before the fun February festivities start in our home.

FL Friends Showering us with Loads of Love

I have to say I feel very grateful and blessed to have some great friends in FL. It makes it a bit easier being away from family knowing we have loving friends here who are genuinely excited about Baby Underwood's arrival and spending time with him/her. Three special girls, Calli, Libby and Natalie, planned an Aussie-themed shower to go with the nursery theme. It was adorable and all so appreciated. Thanks to them and all the ladies who were able to make it out for a Sunday afternoon dedicated to celebrating the pending arrival of Baby U. Much love! Hand-knit koala hat! Brooke - you are so good! Lots of our FL family. Aussie-themed cupcakes, and they tasted great, too! To see the full album check it out here . Our last appointment went well! I passed my gestational diabetes test, uterus measured well, heart beat of the baby was strong, my weight was still right on and blood pressure was ... well, it is okay compared to where it has been. First Trimester Fun

LENGTH WARNING: Last post and this post are catching you up and will serve as a memory for us in the future, so we apologize they are a little long. Once we got home and settled from our European adventures we hunkered down while I fought daily fatigue, a decent amount of nausea, a few food aversions and a heightened sense of smell that often left me holding my noise and running away from its source. Our first doctor's appointment was scheduled for 8 1/2 weeks and it seemed like forever away. One huge blessing is working from home where I don't have to get ready or act "normal". Stefan and Andrew helped out with some cleaning, cooking and errands while I really took it down a notch. I normally have a hard time resting and relaxing and not accomplishing much in a day, so my July was a bit different. The first appointment was great for the most part.
