Gavin updates

Big success - We all made it through the recent sleep draught (my new word for it)! The day after I last posted, he slept through the night and did so for about 6 or 7 nights straight (insert big smiles from Mommy here)! To clarify this means he slept from around 7:30/45 to either 5:30/6 and we could normally get him back to sleep until about 6:15/30. MUCH IMPROVED from the last three and a half weeks before that where he was getting up multiple times a night. We really believe he was just going through something like the sleep regression quotes I shared last post.

I've been nervous to post about him sleeping well and as soon as the thought entered my mind he had a rough night (my last night without Stefan). Luckily last night he made it through again. He's been a bit fussy and clingy and we were attributing that to a big adjustment ... I officially stopped nursing! Last Friday before bed ended up being his last feeding and then Saturday we just made the decision and skipped nursing at night. He's been doing pretty well honestly as long as I still get some cuddle and snuggle time in with him during the day. For those other Mommas out there, you know it is a bit uncomfortable to go through, however, but each day seems to get better. I was ready to be done but honestly I miss it a little.

Although the end of nursing may be partly responsible for his little bouts of a mood lately, we think it is mostly from ... his NINTH tooth! We noticed the little white dot come through his gum yesterday. It is his bottom left incisor and I think maybe the top left is/has come through, too. He doesn't let us look very easily.

In other Gavin news he is down to one nap a day. He is actually sleeping just about the same amount of time during the day, but it is in one long chunk instead of two short ones. We think it is helping him sleep at night, and it is much easier to get him settled for his nap after lunch since he is really ready for it. It has been from about 12:30-2:30 right after lunchtime, so it gives us time on the weekends to do some fun things in the morning instead of having to wait until he was up from his first nap. This opens up opportunities for fun people!

Stefan had a successful work trip to his company's home facility in Phoenix and we have a week with him before he heads to Texas for another 4 day work trip.

I am planning to sub a yoga class tomorrow morning, my first one since October. Hopefully I remember how it all works ;)
Playing in the park with Daddy to kill some time before dinner with friends, Libby and Shane.

Not a fan on the slide apparently.

Mommy and Baby photo shoot - the best one from the impromptu session.

Go MSU, congrats on the Big Ten win and good luck in the Big Dance!

Our super smiley, adorable 13.25 month old.
