14 months
Gavin was 14 months on Saturday! We had some great family time by going to the local BBQ festival. He loved people watching and hung out in the stroller while we were tasting everything. Later in the evening, thanks to our wonderful nanny, Kait, we got to go out with another couple for dinner - just adults!
We are happy to report he is sleeping consistently through the night now. If he wakes up he can put himself back to sleep quickly usually, and he makes it until 6:15 a.m. in the morning after going to bed around 7:15 p.m. We have yet to teach him how to fall asleep on his own for naps because we love the snuggles and it is pretty easy to rock him during the day to sleep, but that is probably coming to an end soon. That will probably help him take longer naps if he can go back to sleep on his own when he wakes up during the day.
He still likes eating and enjoys most things except wants a variety. He loves his breakfast smoothie normally consisting of kale or a different green, chia, baby DHA liquid and some fruit. Works for us, we are getting him all kinds of nutrients and he just sucks it right down! He also loves hard boiled eggs. Crazy kid!
Officially he is not a walker yet, but he can stand on his own for as long as he wants. If you put him down standing and step back he can take steps to get to you. We are pretty sure he can walk but chooses not to because it slows him down. He is such a speedy little crawler.
More and more Gavin is imitating us and our favorite now is a real kiss complete with the sound affect. You can't always get one, but when you do it is gold!
As for babbling and talking, he has a version of hi, bye, up, hot, Mama and Dada. For signing he has down food, more, all done, hot, hi and bye. He hasn't really taken to thank you, please or combos yet. He also mixes up food and more, and tends to use them interchangeably.
Overall he is such a social love bug, and we can barely get enough of him and his cuteness!
