We had easy and smooth flights and layovers this time around for our weekend trip to Kentucky Lake. We visited with study abroad friends Stefan met during his time in Australia nearly 12 years ago. Thanks to Heidi for hosting us at her family's beautiful lake house where we had our own room with a room and a crib for Gavin! The weather was not as warm as one would like while at the lake, but at least we got some sun and no rain appeared.
Before the trip Gavin had his 15-month appointment. He barely weighs over 20 lb and is 31 in so still around 70% in height and down to only 10% in weight. The doc says he looks healthy and she is not at all concerned. He didn't pass an eye screening test though, so we do have an appointment for July to see an ophthalmologist just to be sure all is good.
He still enjoys his morning smoothie and gets lots of good stuff in there, and he pretty much has all his baby teeth in (until the last molars come in I think around 2). The count is 16! He walks regularly and pretty well now, even better this last week. He learns so much and does more and more each day. We are enjoying "knuckles" and fishes faces lately.
We started two weeks of Mommy and Me swim classes after work (8 days). I didn't know the focus would be putting their heads under, and after the first two days I was ready to give up, but on day 3 we had a breakthrough! He didn't really cry and he seemed to even like it at that point. It is low 80s here but he still gets chilly by the end of the half hour. We hope to get to the rest of the classes. It makes for a busy and crazy day for Mommy, but next week we hope it is better once Dad finishes up a huge work project and will be home at a normal time.
We are looking forward to a long weekend together. Happy Memorial Day!

| Not so sure about this whole thing yet. |
| Just not sure about this thing on him. The lifejacket is required on the dock, good thing, too, because the little boy (4) with us this weekend actually stepped back while fishing and fell in. He's okay, was just shaken up and shivering until he had a hot shower. |

| Trying to take advantage despite the 60 degree weather. |
| Back of the beautiful lake house. |
| Dock and lake. |
| Day 2, warmer and a happier dude, this life jacket didn't rub his neck. |
| Short sleeves and smiles. |
| First kayak ride. |
| Playing catch with Yasser. |
| They loved going in there, they did this themselves! Eve (2) |
| What is this crazy face? Tractor sweatshirt in use! |
| Mini yoga session with the kids? Why not? Owen did the poses, Eve tried and Gavin kind of just hung out. |
