1 1/2 years old!
Gavin Turns 1 1/2 years old!
I've been saying we have a 1 1/2 year old for awhile now, but it is officially true! He is a daily reminder of how to just be present - he laughs, discovers, explores, cries and loves with such focus and curiosity. He is my life guru lately :)
It would be impossible to list all of his developments right now, but here are some of my favorites:
- He has something like 15-20 words including our favorites, Jeep, Moo (for cows and any animal that size), More, Uh uh
- He has some funny faces but my favorite is fishy face which sometimes is him sticking out his tongue and sometimes him scrunching up his lips.
- His favorite thing lately is sitting in his rocker reading his books. His reading is gibberish but oh so cute. He leans back and reads one then hands it back to you and asks for More. Of course he would prefer to be outside if he could.
- He does yoga (downward facing dog) and squats on command now. Makes Mommy and Daddy so proud!
- He hands us the towel in the kitchen when we are washing our hands and brings us our shoes and touches them to our feet when we are going outside.
- He kind of runs now, sometimes we joke he looks like a tipsy adult.
- He think he finally made it through a terrible sleep regression. He is currently going to bed at 7 p.m., waking up around 6 a.m. and napping for an hour around 1 p.m. I'll take it and am just hoping it stays consistent for awhile. We had some way to early mornings and no nap days for awhile there, no fun for anyone.
- He eats like a champ - mostly all the food we eat. He loves his morning smoothies and hard boiled egg, and we shove so much good stuff into that smoothie that we love that he loves it! He still throws food on the floor sometimes and likes to drop his cups, but he'll get there.
There is so much more going on in his little world but that should give you a glimpse of Gavin at 18 months in. Daily he is growing and adding new things to his bag of tricks. We see the doctor tomorrow for his official stats.
Now we are enjoying this month all together before some friends come down over Labor Day and our trip to Calgary after that.
