Labor Day Fun and Gavin's First Day of "School"

Over the long weekend, we had a blast catching up with some of our good Indy friends. Lauren and Dan come down to our area about once a year, and we always look forward to it! How fortunate for us to move to their family vacation spot?! We were happy to host them Saturday night and meet their sweet daughter, Nora (10 months). 

We definitely didn't bat an eye about catching some sun with them at their hotel pool on the beach on Monday. We'll be sad to say goodbye after dinner this Wednesday, but we will already be looking forward to next summer when they come down again!  









Today was Gavin's first day of "school" or more like daycare, which he will be going to T & Th. We have some trips coming up so it will be a bit sporadic at first, but I hope in time he will adjust and not cry when I drop him off. This morning was pretty hard leaving my little guy behind in a new place with new people. Since I haven't had a call I'm sure he is okay. Hopefully he will nap this afternoon there! Can't wait to pick him up at 4 p.m. today. I hope he is making lots of little friends :)

FL Friends Showering us with Loads of Love

I have to say I feel very grateful and blessed to have some great friends in FL. It makes it a bit easier being away from family knowing we have loving friends here who are genuinely excited about Baby Underwood's arrival and spending time with him/her. Three special girls, Calli, Libby and Natalie, planned an Aussie-themed shower to go with the nursery theme. It was adorable and all so appreciated. Thanks to them and all the ladies who were able to make it out for a Sunday afternoon dedicated to celebrating the pending arrival of Baby U. Much love! Hand-knit koala hat! Brooke - you are so good! I passed my gestational diabetes test, uterus measured well, heart beat of the baby was strong, my weight was still right on and blood pressure was ... well, it is okay compared to where it has been. First Trimester Fun

LENGTH WARNING: Last post and this post are catching you up and will serve as a memory for us in the future, so we apologize they are a little long. Once we got home and settled from our European adventures we hunkered down while I fought daily fatigue, a decent amount of nausea, a few food aversions and a heightened sense of smell that often left me holding my noise and running away from its source. Our first doctor's appointment was scheduled for 8 1/2 weeks and it seemed like forever away. One huge blessing is working from home where I don't have to get ready or act "normal". Stefan and Andrew helped out with some cleaning, cooking and errands while I really took it down a notch. I normally have a hard time resting and relaxing and not accomplishing much in a day, so my July was a bit different. The first appointment was great for the most part.
