Well just like that we are less than one week away from leaving Florida and Zoe is 7 weeks old. In some ways it seems like time has flown and in others it has crawled by. When I think of the move, I know we are doing the best thing for our family and we are genuinely excited, but there is that churning in my stomach every time I imagine the day we actually leave. I'm sure it has to do with transitions and change being hard plus leaving "the know" and our people here along with venturing into the unknown and having to make new people. Plus, there is some nostalgia for here ... the place we went from being a couple to being a family of four. I get choked up but know once the goodbyes are complete and the move is underway that I will be able to look forward more to what is in store.
We get our final FL reinforcements this week. BIL and SIL Mike and Katie arrive later this week to help finish packing, hang with the kids, load the truck and make the road trip with Stefan. Seriously - SAINTS! I'll be on a plane to MI for six days with both kiddos (please let that travel day go smoothly!) and then make my way to Phoenix. We have made good progress and think with four adults around, and the help of our faithful Shibby, that we can wrap everything up this weekend.
Zoe is doing great still. She turned seven weeks old on Sunday and had an appointment the week before. She is 9 lb 10 oz and 21.5 inches (birth measurements as a reminder were 7 lb 2 oz and 18.5 in), so growing well. Nursing is going well if I can just keep any more mastitis at bay and so far so good. Sleeping is honestly so good right now but I say that while holding my breath. I know it may change and I know the time zone changes coming up will probably mess us all up, but right now she is doing great. She goes to sleep around 9:30 and usually doesn't need to eat again until between 3-4 a.m which keeps her calm until about 6-7. Sooo much different and easier than her big brother at this stage! I'm so grateful given all that we have going on.
Gavin's doing well and tantrums have seemed to minimize a bit as he adjusts to having to share us. (or maybe we just have learned how to deal with them better). He has just three more days of school left before he is off until the end of June when I go back to work, and he can't wait. He isn't a big fan of going to school, which we hope to change with a new school in Phoenix. We have yet to finalize their daycare/school though. LONG STORY, but we had it pretty much set then it all fell through. We have a game plan so hopefully we can just finalize it that first week there when we can see them in person.
I'll try to update when I can but forgive me if it isn't for a bit while we finally live through this transition. Wishing everyone a safe Memorial Day (May long in CAN) weekend!

| This was a random day after picking Gavin up from school - Z is in the bean bag chair if you look closely, G dumped a bunch of his toys into a pile so he could ride over them with his bike and S is still at work. Oh the mess! So much for those few things I had organized for the move. |
