Caitlin's Celebration


The last weekend of our MI visit I was able to sneak away up north with the other bridesmaids for Caitlin's bachelorette weekend! She asked if I could plan a weekend in Traverse City for her, and it ended up being a success minus one crisis averted early on...ask Caitlin if you need your id in Traverse City for wine tours and going out ;)

We had a cute three bedroom AirBNB rental that was close to downtown. On Friday we stayed in, played games, messed around with our handmade photo booth, and enjoyed a taco bar and cake. I made sure we had breakfast casseroles for both mornings and packed lunches for our wine tour the second day. The ladies made sure we had lots of snacks and of course drinks. Saturday we made our way to four wineries via a wine tour and had the afternoon to rest up. We dolled ourselves up for Saturday night, grabbed dinner out then made our way to a bar then a dance club. I was out and up late two nights in a row and survived ... my college past self would be so proud!

Overall it was a great time and I think everyone enjoyed a little break. We are all so excited for the next celebration...the wedding in a few months! So happy for my little sister :)

Thanks to A. Charm for introducing this to us at Christmas, and thanks to mom and dad for their contribution to the weekend. A saran wrap ball with tons of goodies inside! I won $5 in lottery tickets! :)

Two days later I had the kids solo for our flight back to Phoenix...it was ... challenging since Z boycotted sleeping, but we survived!


The next day the kids went back to school to their new classrooms...Gavin is officially a preschooler!

FL Friends Showering us with Loads of Love

I have to say I feel very grateful and blessed to have some great friends in FL. It makes it a bit easier being away from family knowing we have loving friends here who are genuinely excited about Baby Underwood's arrival and spending time with him/her. Three special girls, Calli, Libby and Natalie, planned an Aussie-themed shower to go with the nursery theme. It was adorable and all so appreciated. Thanks to them and all the ladies who were able to make it out for a Sunday afternoon dedicated to celebrating the pending arrival of Baby U. Much love! Hand-knit koala hat! Brooke - you are so good! Lots of our FL family. Aussie-themed cupcakes, and they tasted great, too! To see the full album check it out here . Our last appointment went well! I passed my gestational diabetes test, uterus measured well, heart beat of the baby was strong, my weight was still right on and blood pressure was ... well, it is okay compared to where it has been. First Trimester Fun

LENGTH WARNING: Last post and this post are catching you up and will serve as a memory for us in the future, so we apologize they are a little long. Once we got home and settled from our European adventures we hunkered down while I fought daily fatigue, a decent amount of nausea, a few food aversions and a heightened sense of smell that often left me holding my noise and running away from its source. Our first doctor's appointment was scheduled for 8 1/2 weeks and it seemed like forever away. One huge blessing is working from home where I don't have to get ready or act "normal". Stefan and Andrew helped out with some cleaning, cooking and errands while I really took it down a notch. I normally have a hard time resting and relaxing and not accomplishing much in a day, so my July was a bit different. The first appointment was great for the most part.
