Key West Get Away

Image
Thanks so much to G&G H for watching Gavin for almost four days while Stefan and I ventured down to Key West over the 4th of July long weekend. We relaxed as much as we could, mostly hanging by the pool during the day, then made our way to town for the dinners without a nearly 1 1/2 year old squirming around. Mostly we enjoyed sleeping in! We had a great time, but I was excited to see our little man again with it being my first time leaving him overnight.  Pretty drive from Miami to Key West through all the other keys. Famous sunset. Tapas at Santiago's Bodega, a hidden gem and oh so yum! Key Lime pie of course. Stefan couldn't wait to get some! Ahhh - our hangout for two days. I couldn't get him out of the pool! My festive nails and a Miami Vice (strawberry daiquiri and pina colada) I had to find a sign to take my pic with - every evening they have a Sunset Celebration here with street performers and vendors before th...

Visitors arrive, move is complete and a birthday ... whew

Image
Luckily we had some reserves come in for the packing, move and unpacking. (Poor Mom and Dad!) Welcome back! Top video: we were trying to capture him dancing, but instead at the end we got his new "jig". Bottom video: Gavin's Easter whistle from Mom and Dad's Europe adventures. They arrived on Tuesday then the move down the highway took place on Saturday ... yes, my birthday (blah!). It was a hot, humid and typical Florida day, so it was tiring for our relentless truck loaders and unloaders (aka Dad, Stefan and Shane) - the toughest job! Thanks also to Mom, Libby and Kait for all the cleaning, organizing, packing/unpacking and Gavin watching. We COULD NOT have done it without you! Front of house - built in 1950s with two additions since then. Back patio and yard. We did take a break for some pita pit lunch - YUM - and some pizza and cake for dinner (and presents!). On Sunday the fam went out to dinner as well. All the move and birthday festivities...

New Address

Image
We will be moving this Saturday (yea, I know it is my birthday but we didn't have much choice). At least Mom and Dad will be here! Our new address is: 26 Gilmore Drive, Gulf Breeze FL 32563 Pics to come once we are settled - stay tuned! In the meantime, here are some pics of Gavin and from our friend Brandi's wedding last weekend. He's a "helper" when it comes to packing. He grabbed these from my nightstand knew just where they went. THANK YOU G&G Underwood for my surprise gift. I'll work to master this by the time you come visit me next! Brandi the beautiful bride and her Dad walking down the aisle. My handsome date. Yes, I know my hair is what I call "merlot". It's crazy and not exactly what I had in mind, but it is semi-permanent so it hopefully will wash out some soon! Friends! Also - a new video of Gavin "reading". And, if you didn't see the other videos I posted last week (I updated it...

Passing time

Image
What do Gavin and Mommy do to pass time until Daddy comes home from his latest work trip? This is a decently long one - 9 days - so we have had lots of time to kill. We have three more nights and days until he's back from this one. We play with our new sprinkler.  We play outside with our neighbors (hate that we finally have neighbor friends and we are moving next weekend, boo!) Kenzington is 5 weeks younger than Gavin. Gavin want to play some golf?  We play at the park.  One of us takes naps while the other sweats their little tushie off running in the FL heat. And then we take lots of videos for Daddy! (Not getting the concept of the sprinkler, and playing with our new vacuum from Kait which he loves) See more even cuter videos here (i couldn't get them to upload on the blog). Next weekend is the move to Gulf Breeze proper! Wish us luck. Thanks in advance Mom and Dad Harte for coming to help us!

Happy Birthday, Stefan

Image
Happy 33rd birthday to my main man and the guy Gavin calls (or will call when he can talk, ha) Daddy! Stefan enjoyed the Zac Brown Band concert at the Wharf in AL on Thursday night with some friends and said it was amazing! We both worked on Friday of course, but on Saturday the birthday boy got to head out to the golf course for a morning of fun, sun and sweat! Saturday morning, Gavin helped me get groceries and bake a homemade cake (well he mostly napped during the baking part), so that when Stefan got home we were able to celebrate our best guy together while enjoying lunch, cake and presents. We even made it to the mall to pick out something with one of his gift cards - some super comfy/can be dressy black Oakley shorts! He did get spoiled on the present front - lucky guy! We also did Father's Day since Stefan leaves on Friday for nine days for a work trip. Saturday night our fab nanny watched Gavin so we could enjoy dinner out with some great friends. We love you so much, ...

A GREAT G&G visit

Image
Last weekend we had the pleasure of hosting Gavin's Great Grandpa and Grandma Macocha for three nights as they made their way back to IN from a month long stay in Fort Myers. Of course we loved our time together but it is never long enough. We played cards each night after Gavin was asleep. The women won the best of series in their favorite "hand and foot" card game and the guys took the overall win in Euchre.  We enjoyed what we called "An Early Father's Day Dinner" out on Saturday at a fun place right on the water and then brunch on Sunday after church. Plus we snuck in a visit to the zoo! Enjoy some pictures of our adventures.  Grandma enjoying the budgies. Those silly birds thought Grandpa's shoelaces were food! Gavin isn't sure this time about these guys. Yep, definitely not a fan. He was okay until two of them started "fighting" for the food. Stefan thought it was funny that he flipped out. Perfect for his O...
