Three Months!

Three Months!

Gavin is three months old! My goodness he's had lots of experiences since our last post just the other day. He went on his first flights and slept for both of them the entire time (angel baby!), he met lots of his family and friends, he was baptized, and he rolled over on his own from front to back three times!!!
  • He is a sweet, smiling baby. He is quite interactive and when holding him his little legs move so much like he is already running! 
  • He is forming somewhat of a schedule. He takes a longer nap in the morning and then a few 45 minute ones throughout the day. He is usually up about an hour and 15 mins after eating then is ready for a snooze. At night time he gets a feeding around 10 p.m. and a midnight dream feed. The goal is to get him to 6 a.m. after that and sometimes we get there or close to it. If he stays swaddled, naps more during the day than the evening and eats well during the day he sleeps better. We are hoping we are on the verge of him sleeping well on a regular basis!
  • He loves bath time now and splishes and splashes in the tub.
  • His indigestion seems to be better now, although Mom isn't eating dairy. Every time she tries to add it back in it seems it upsets Gavin's tummy. Maybe at some point we can get dairy back!
  • The swaddle and white noise along with a paci are becoming great sleep cues and he usually goes right down for a nap or bedtime.
  • Mommy lately is calling me, "bug".

 
his flights and Baptism went really well with our well mannered babe. We are having a great time with family and friends in MI, and are looking forward to the rest of the trip!

FL Friends Showering us with Loads of Love

I have to say I feel very grateful and blessed to have some great friends in FL. It makes it a bit easier being away from family knowing we have loving friends here who are genuinely excited about Baby Underwood's arrival and spending time with him/her. Three special girls, Calli, Libby and Natalie, planned an Aussie-themed shower to go with the nursery theme. It was adorable and all so appreciated. Thanks to them and all the ladies who were able to make it out for a Sunday afternoon dedicated to celebrating the pending arrival of Baby U. Much love! Hand-knit koala hat! Brooke - you are so good! Lots of our FL family. Aussie-themed cupcakes, and they tasted great, too! To see the full album check it out here . Our last appointment went well! I passed my gestational diabetes test, uterus measured well, heart beat of the baby was strong, my weight was still right on and blood pressure was ... well, it is okay compared to where it has been. First Trimester Fun

LENGTH WARNING: Last post and this post are catching you up and will serve as a memory for us in the future, so we apologize they are a little long. Once we got home and settled from our European adventures we hunkered down while I fought daily fatigue, a decent amount of nausea, a few food aversions and a heightened sense of smell that often left me holding my noise and running away from its source. Our first doctor's appointment was scheduled for 8 1/2 weeks and it seemed like forever away. One huge blessing is working from home where I don't have to get ready or act "normal". Stefan and Andrew helped out with some cleaning, cooking and errands while I really took it down a notch. I normally have a hard time resting and relaxing and not accomplishing much in a day, so my July was a bit different. The first appointment was great for the most part.
