Longest friendship - oh the comfort, oh the fun!

I got a text the weekend before from my oldest friend...Kelly! She wondered if we were busy the upcoming weekend and wanted to drive out to spend it with us. Of course, yes, we did! She drove 7 hours to be with us.

Kelly and I were actually baptized together then went to pre-school together and then school all the way through high school. We played on teams together, went on high school senior year spring break together and visited each other at college. Throughout the years, many memories and times of our lives were intertwined. There is just something comfortable being around someone who knows where you came from and what your past entailed.

It was so wonderful having time to talk with her and connect about our lives, plus it was so fun to see her spend time with Gavin and Zoe. Thanks so much for coming all this way, KT! We had a blast with you!

Next up, S & G head to Canada on their first ever boys trip (yes, I'm nervous and a bit sad but know they will have a blast!). Z and I will hold down the fort here and spend some quality time together.

Making a box firetruck. Using that imagination.

Stefan had to work this weekend before KT came, and so G, Z and I went to a halloween costume unveiling party at our local Kid to Kid store. We scored the rest of G's firefighter costume and I won a raffle! A massage gift card, woo hoo. So glad I got everyone out to the event! Gavin is less than thrilled in the picture but he was thrilled about his costume!

Up on all fours!

G is pretty pleased with himself putting his firefighter hat on Z.

G built this fire station at school using a real hammer and nails, then the next day he painted it.

And again, still not a fan of avocado. Maybe time to move onto to sweet potatoes or bananas.

G's lego collection - it is amazing how he focuses on these. Yes, he can rebuild most of them from memory now. Impressive!

Backseat buddies.

Beautiful night for dinner sitting on the patio of an Italian restaurant.

Family photo, we have like three all together ever and none where we are all looking ... one day!

Guest bedtime reader!

"Camping" at REI.

New bathing suit, ready for a splash in the pool.

Kick, kick, kick

Daddy/daughter

Z is looking and smiling! Checking out pics of us in preschool. I'm the witch and KT is the unicorn. This is the St. Joe Halloween parade.
Baptism! (Godmom, you are in there but you can't see your face, it is behind Dad's head, dang!).

Meadowland Halloween, would be maybe 1987?

Wish I got Z's head in here, but both smiling!

Reading to Z...don't ask about the socks, oy!

Happy birthday, Dad. We love you!

So close...apparently the official name of this stage is quadraped rocking (you can thank Stef for that!).
