Z is 10 months!

Z baby is 10 months old!

Our little lady is 10 months old today! She is too precious and we love her little personality. She still seems mostly easy going and lets G do some kind of rough whole body play without even crying. She does has a scream now though that gets your attention right away - yowza. She has had some colds and infections the last few months which have had her grouchy, but overall she is doing well.

She is at home with the nanny now until she is 1 year old and walking. Then she can go back to the daycare. That is going well although it is hard sometimes with her wanting me. I love that I can just nurse her during the day though!

Z is eating purees three times a day and has recently started enjoying finger foods. We hope to increase this over the next few months. She seems to like to eat real food and is interested in what I am eating. She is still nursing well every three hours during the day. At night we have started weaning, and I'm down to just one early morning feeding. I plan to cut that in a few weeks after we both adjust.

She hopefully weighs close to 18 lb or so, we will find out on Monday when we go back to check her ears from her last infection. She wears 9 month clothes and 12 month jimmies. She still seems petite but is on her growth chart so all is good.

For sleep, there is a bit of training going on with the weaning. With all the travel and sickness she was used to nursing when she woke up. Now that we are cutting that, we have switched over to picking her up till she stops crying then patting her until she settles down. The first time it took her a bit but now it seems to be a little bit quicker during the night time. To go to sleep she is really quick. I'm hoping it continues that way and then eventually she stops waking up around midnight. It is all still new (only a few days) so we will see how it goes. I'm hoping on the 11 month post I'll have good things to report. She still naps twice, but by the time she goes back to daycare in two months she will need to have one long nap around noon so we will work on that in a while and see if we can get her there.

Little one wants to walk but doesn't have the balance yet. She also loves being held by mommy and we have started seeing separation anxiety a bit when she has to leave me. I'm trying to soak her all up and enjoy her precious little smile even when I feel like I have a baby on my hip at all times.

We are so grateful she is overall healthy and love how much she loves G-man. Those two together make us smile. Let's see what the 10th month will bring ...

And to make you smile ... Z's processing her basketball and volleyball stances to be just like mommy :)
