Happy Easter!
Gavin's seven weeks old and celebrated his first Easter. Although Mom went to Mass on her own while Dad and Gavin hung out at home to avoid the crowds and the germs, we all got to have brunch out together on a restaurant patio. G got to sport his "My First Easter" bib compliments from his Great Aunt Sue (Mal's Godmother). He also wore all three of his onesies that have chicks on them - yep, we went through three outfits - sometimes the cloth diapers don't agree with us and leak and yes it is very annoying! We got Gavin his first Easter basket, which, instead of being filled with chocolate bunnies and Cadbury eggs, was stuffed with baby sunscreen so he is set for the spring and summer in Florida :)
Between this week and last we experienced the infamous six week growth spurt Mal had heard about at the Mom's group. Let's just say it was kind of a rough three days. He ate basically every hour to hour and 15 minutes and then only slept for about two or three hours at a time at night. He graced us with fussiness during the days between eating as well. We're glad that is past us, now we are hoping he can have a good day followed by a good night instead of just one or the other. We've seen some five hour sleep stretches, and one five hour and 45 minute blocks of sleep, but they are still yet to be consistent. We may have made some head way on the indigestion, but we are not positive yet if that is it or we just had a good few days on that front. Time will tell and also regulate the little guy. We know this time will fly by and he'll soon be running around the house, so we are trying to enjoy this newborn stage even with all its challenges! There are so many great times including when he plays on his mat every morning and learns he has a voice! Plus of course the smiles!
Last week at the group, he weighed 11.4 with clothes on, so we are saying 11 pounds. Yes, he is growing lots still. With his cloth diapers sometimes we put him in 3 month outfits since they are much more bulky. We are glad the boy likes to eat, and we're grateful for our healthy chubby bunny!
The list of nicknames keeps growing - they kind of just come out of my mouth. I just want to put them in here so I remember and to make you all laugh! Here was our list after a week that we posted earlier:
